Hi all, I’m working my way through the continents this year. I love reading character driven stories about regular people. I prefer modern books or at least written in the last century. Bonus points for a female author
So far on my quest I’ve read:
Australia: Dirt Poor Islanders by Winnie Dunn and Purple Threads by Jeanine Lean
Africa: The Old Man and the Medal by Ferdinand Oyono and My Sister the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
Asia: The Seven Moons of Maali Almeida by Shehan Karunatilaka and I’m currently reading Mountains More Ancient by Isna Marifa
North America: who will run the frog hospital by the Lorrie Moore
I want to go to South America next.
But if anyone has suggestions for Europe, the middle east/Central Asia or even Antarctica (I know this one would probably be non fiction haha) I would love the suggestions.
Also open to suggestions for your country/continent
